LAST WEEK - 20 of April - Tuesday

TUESDAY OF THE LAST WEEK
STYLE OF CLOTHES: COSTUME

Monday, April 19, 2010

LAST WEEK - 19 of April - Monday

MONDAY OF THE LAST WEEK
STYLE OF CLOTHES: BREGA

A picture is said to be worth 1000 words. In this case you can probably get about 4000 words. Each person was more brega than the last. It's so different seeing old U6's doing it and finally doing it yourself!

16 of April - Friday

What a day today was and still shall be!
We ended up jumping in the pool just like we had planned yesterday! During the last 30 minutes of our last full Friday at school we jumped in the pool in many ways, splashed around and, well...just had fun in general.

Video:

But wait! There's more! Yes! The U6 Party will be tonight at the Secrett Lounge (and that's not a typo: there are two "t"'s in Secrett Lounge. All the money we make with the party will also be devoted to our Trip in early June!

Thursday, April 15, 2010

15 of April - Thursday

With the Last P.E. arriving tomorrow, we decided that it would be interesting for all of us to jump in the pool tomorrow afternoon. A link will be up soon with a few photos. Let's make this a little bit interesting, eh?

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

14 of April - Wednesday

Since next Wednesday will be Tiradentes holiday today was the very last full Wednesday for the U6. During the tutorial period after lunch we were in the 6th Form Centre where Mr. Thomas handed out the IB Timetables for us. Good to finally have a non-virtual copy.

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

13 of April - Tuesday

The Dress Code for next week (The Last U6 week in St. Paul's) will has been decided!

Monday - "Brega" Day
Tuesday - Costume Day
Wednesday - Tiradentes
Thursday - Uniform
Friday - Pajamas

Monday, April 12, 2010

12 of April - Monday

Only 2 more weeks before the beginning of Study Leave. The L6 will have the 6th Form Centre all to themselves soon enough!

Friday, April 9, 2010

9 of April - Friday

We've found a small, rubber ball and the 6th Form Centre has found another way of entertainment. This was, of course, completely nescessarily especially because Mario Kart '64 was removed from the 6th Form Centre along with the Nintendo. Apparently too many people were cutting class to play it and the teachers thought it would be best to have that thing removed...at least that's what we've been told...

Thursday, April 8, 2010

8 of April - Thursday

Unfortunately I was sick today and did not manage to make it to school. I'm not too sure what happened but from what I've been hearing today's been a lot like Tuesday. Not much been going on.

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

7 of April - Wednesday

The Rancho people left today after school. Let's with them the best and as many victories there as possible!

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

6 of April - Tuesday

In all honesty this has been one boring day where nothing new has happened. Oh well. Just one of those days.

EXCEPT!!!!!!

We had the Quiz Night! It went very smoothly! Teachers, Parents and U6 all had a great night! We made a lot of money through the selling of food, the participation of teams and, last but not least, the generous extra donations provided by the parents! We appreciate it!

All money earned goes to help pay for our U6 Party. The earning of the party go to help pay for our U6 Trip after the IB's!

Monday, April 5, 2010

5 of April - Monday

Many people of the senior school are getting their forms and papers ready to find out if they're going to Rancho this week. It will be from Wednesday night until Saturday afternoon.

Saturday, March 27, 2010

27 of March - 4 of April

EASTER BREAK / HALF TERM

Plenty of time off. For the U6 it's an indication that the IB's are on their way! For the F5, IGCSE's are coming!

Friday, March 26, 2010

26 of March - Friday

Note that school ended at 12pm today.
Casual clothes day in to help the victims of Haiti / Chile.
There were no special assemblies nor extended tutorials. Not for the higher-end of the Senior School at least. I'm not too sure about the F3's and under. For us we only had normal lessons.

Thursday, March 25, 2010

25 of March - Thursday

People are already getting all excited about the coming Easter Break / Half Term!

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

24 of March - Wednesday

The Egg Friend was during the tutorial period after lunch today!

My Egg friend turned out to be Bia and Eddie was the one who pulled my name.
I got Bia a Kinder Egg and Eddie got me a Kinder Egg. Seems like I traded 6 for half a dozen.

Hmm...I wonder if that expression works in English...

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

23 of March - Tuesday

People have pretty much finished writing what Easter Egg they want tomorrow for the Secret Egg.
It's generally assumed, though, that those that haven't put what egg they crave just want the normal Kinder Egg.

Monday, March 22, 2010

22 of March - Monday

Zhao got into USC.

Giovanni got into Babson College.

Matheus got into Northeastern.

I think you can imagine what comes next, yes?

Friday, March 19, 2010

19 of March - Friday

Form's 1 through 4 had their swimming gala today during our regular P.E. Lesson.

The end of the 2 Minute Hate was the topic for my English Oral Exam. I don't know how, but I managed to speak for 15 minutes non-stop! What's more, Mr. Thomas said that it was "The best oral you did, by a long shot"!

Well, yay for me.

Thursday, March 18, 2010

18 of March - Thursday

Since nothing's happened I'll just make the most of this to announce the IB Evening of Theatre happening next Wednesday and Thursday!

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

17 of March - Wednesday

Okay! Something happened!

During Tutorial after lunch, we (most of the U6) gathered in the 6th Form Centre to discuss and interesting matter: Easter Egg Secret Friend.

Yes, everyone got a name from a bag. We need to get our secret friend an easter egg with prices ranging from R$20 to R$40. My secret friend is.....

......I'll write it down after it happens next week! :p

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

16 of March - Tuesday

Is this gonna be one of those boring weeks where nothing happens?!

Monday, March 15, 2010

15 of March - Monday

Yeah...not much to talk about today.

Saturday, March 13, 2010

13 of March - Saturday

St. Paul's Annual Biathlon!
The U6 were asked to come help out as Staff by the PTA. If enough people came, then the funding from the upcoming Quiz night would go to out U6 Party and/or Trip!

Fortunately, enough people did come to help and the PTA has told us that the profits will, indeed, come to us!

Friday, March 12, 2010

12 of March - Friday

Swimming Gala. Yes, it was the last swimming gala for every U6. Of course, it was not only today. Oh no, today was dedicated to the F5, L6 and U6 classes. The rest of the senior school will have their swimming gala next Friday! Because of that, we can't know who won the swimming gala yet...

Thursday, March 11, 2010

11 of March - Thursday

This was one memorable lunchtime! All of the U6 gathered on the stairs, where the main entrance of the school once was. There we took our Class of 2010 picture.

Teti almost didn't make it to the photo. Yeah, apparently she bumped her car earlier today and had to spend a lot of time at the repairshop exchanging car information with the other person. If photos could move, Teti would be panting! Hahaha

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

10 of March - Wednesday

After lunch, a meeting was held in the 6th Form Centre to discuss one key part of our U6 Trip: Transportation.
After a rather unsuccessful vote, not much was decided. Nobody could be sure if there were more votes for going by plane or going by bus. Lucas has said that he'll ask people individually and decide how we'll go after that.

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

9 of March - Tuesday

Apart from news that we are going to meet up to discuss the method of transportation for the U6 trip, nothing much happened today.

Monday, March 8, 2010

8 of March - Monday

The week started off with house assemblies. As usual, Stuart in the cafeteria, Tudor in the theatre and Windsor in the art centre.
The reason? The swimming gala's coming up.
It will be on the 12th (Friday) for F5, L6 and U6 and on the 19th for the rest of the senior school.

Friday, March 5, 2010

5 of March - Friday

One special event at school and one outside of school:

School - Inter-house games during P.E. A pretty good way to end the week!

Out of School - Bia's Party. She turned 18 on Wednesday. It's gonna be a really interesting get together, no doubt.

Thursday, March 4, 2010

4 of March - Thursday

Okay, wait, WHAT?
Turns out that the reason the coffee and chocolate have finished in the machine is that sombody was throwing the powder at someone else!

Now the Staff's all upset and we have to pay R$1.00 to get a half-cup of coffee / chocolate.

Way to go...

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

3 of March - Wednesday

The U6 got together to decide where our U6 Party was going to be.
A vote happened between Bettina's location and José Thomas's location.
Zé won the vote.

The party will be on the 16th of April. Pretty soon you'll be able to buy tickets from the U6.

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

2 of March - Tuesday

Great. Now we're also out of chocolate. Now we've either got Hot Water or Hot Water with milk. Neither are very good...trust me.

When are they gonna refill that damn thing?

Monday, March 1, 2010

1 of March - Monday

A pinch and a punch and the first of the month!...............no? Well, I guess that WAS a little too Prep 4...

Er..anyway; seems that this week is dedicated to the English A1 Oral exams. Or are they just mocks? I don't know. I do A2.

Sunday, February 28, 2010

28 of February - Sunday

February's only got 28 days this year. Good for us? Probably not because that means we've got 2 less days before the IB. Terrible.

Friday, February 26, 2010

26 of February - Friday

Like yesterday, today was quite the uneventful day. Sorry guys.

Oh RIGHT!! The Coffee Machine is out of Coffee and they still haven't changed it.
The options are now:
a) Chocolate
b) Chocoleite
c) Hot Water

Thursday, February 25, 2010

25 of February - Thursday

The "Casserole Streak" is over...seems we've been spared after all.

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

24 of February - Wednesday

Brazilian Week is really kicking in and F1 - L6 were given a presentation on Samba, it's origins and how to dance it during the Tutorial period after lunch.

And speaking of lunch, what's going on with the menu?
Monday: Chicken Casserole
Tuesday: Beef Casserole
Wednesday: Fish Casserole

Geez...

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

23 of February - Tuesday

WE'VE WON! After almost 2 years of battling, haggling and outright protest we've finally won!!

Guess what's been installed in the 6th Form Centre this morning? That's right! A freakin' expresso machine! Now, not only is it absolutely free to use and abuse, but it's got 5 amazing options!

1 - Café Curto
2- Café Longo
3 - Café com Leite
4 - Chocolate
5 - Chocoleite

Of course, there are conditions. Mr. The Jet has told us that if
a) The 6th Form Center becomes a junkyard of plastic cups and spilled Coffee and
b) If we take the coffee to class, library, etc...
the machine will be disabled temporarily or, if there is persistion, removed entirely.

We have this privelege. Now we just have to be careful not to abuse it.

Monday, February 22, 2010

22 of February - Monday

Well, what a surprise! All of the puffs and sofa's in the 6th Form Centre have been replaced! The old, torn puffs were removed and replaced with large and stuffed puffs. The problem? They aren't anywhere near as colourful as before. These only came in 3 colours: blue, light blue and dark blue. Yeah...pretty monochromatic.
The sofa's were a nice touch; the only problem was that the old sofas were comfortable because they were old! They were all soft and cushion-like. Some particular puffs sort of look like they're wooden. Well, no problem! I'm sure we'll wear them down with time and they'll be as comfy as the old ones!

On an unrelated note: Andrea has been admitted into Bentley. Alberto has also been admitted with one difference: a 50% scholarship for tennis activities!

I also got a note from Bentley: turns out I was wait-listed. Well, whilst I wasn't admitted I also wasn't rejected, right? Gotta look on the bright side!

13-21 of February - Carnival Week

Well, school's off for one week. Carnival holidays and all that.

I'm sure we all had fun but we've had to dedicate a lot of time to study too...

Anyway, I went to Rio...here are a pictures since It's been a while since I've put one up:

Friday, February 12, 2010

12 of February - Friday

Many people either didn't show up today or are leaving early (my case). The reason? I had a bus to catch! And the Carnival holidays are about to start!

Happy Holidays everyone (although I doubt much fun will be had with the IB's peering over the horizon!!)

Thursday, February 11, 2010

8 - 11 of February Monday Through Thursday

Forgive my lateness in writing this week. Things have been a little hectic with the Extended Essay, TOK Essay and Portuguese A1 World Lit. Coursework all for this week.

Well what can be said about this week? Coursework deadlines at home, a lot of work in classes and Nintendo 64 during break and lunch. What's a 6th Former to do?

Friday, February 5, 2010

5 of February - Friday

Starfox 64 and Mario Tennis are seemingly going to last longer than the PS3 did a few months ago.

It's still tearing up the 6th Form Centre and it doesn't seem to be stopping yet; especially with the discovery of the Doubles in Mario Tennis. You know how we all love 2 vs 2 sports!

Thursday, February 4, 2010

4 of February - Thursday

Good additions have been brought for the '64!
Eddie brought us 2 extra controllers and Starfox '64! Seems like today Mario Tennis was substituted for Starfox and 4 players could play at one, rather than two.

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

3 of February - Wednesday

Well what do you know? What's more classy and nostalgic than bringing a PS3 into the 6th Form Centre? Yes, bringing in a 1997 Nintendo '64!!
Mario Tennis was played over and over again. I think it's interesting to note that it took a while for Gus' winning streak to get shredded...

At Break time we had a meeting to discuss our U6 trip. The decision was not to go to Porto das Galinhas anymore; instead we're going to Búzios!

More news to follow.

Tuesday, February 2, 2010

2 of February - Tuesday

I can't even describe how uneventful today was. Seriously, I hope something interesting happens tomorrow that'll give me some news....

Monday, February 1, 2010

1 of February - Monday

Turns out I was mistaken, the meeting to discuss U6 things like the trip is on WEDNESDAY the 3rd of Friday... Other than that this was a pretty uneventful morning/afternoon.

Friday, January 29, 2010

29 of January - Friday

What a week! It seems that school's come back at full speed and nothing is stopping all the work! Courseworks are due in soon and the tension is really gripping.

Luckily, those that are in THIMUN had a week more to cool off...

Thursday, January 28, 2010

28 of January - Thursday

The U6 Trip group has organized a meeting in room 301 to discuss matters like the Year Book, Funding for the trip and the trip itself. Room 301 at breaktime on a monday....just like old times.

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

27 of January - Wednesday

The U6 trip is being planned out and there's some doubt as to where we should go: Buzios or Porto das Galinhas. A meeting will most likely be scheduled soon.

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

26 of January - Tuesday

Now that Marcello's in Chicago University, it's his turn to get shaved!

The link of the video will be up soon but, until then, here are some photos to tease your minds!

Monday, January 25, 2010

25 of January - Monday

São Paulo's birthday today. That means no school today!

Friday, January 22, 2010

22 of January - Friday

School was even more abandoned than yesterday. Most classes were made up of only one or two people. Now that's just lonely...

Thursday, January 21, 2010

21 of January - Thursday

The school is practically deserted; well, deserted of F5's and U6's at least...they're probably running around rampant enjoying the last weekend of their "holidays".

Marcello's been away in Chicago for the past few days, missing some of the mocks; but it was well worth it. Marcello is now in Chicago University: Class of 2014! Congratulations, old sport!

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

20 of January - Wednesday

The end of the Mocks had finally come but, more importantly, the beginning of Term 2 has arrived.

Ah, I can tell some of the U6 are feeling it already: the expectations of the second term, the tension of the IB's and last, but not least, the uncomfortable sensation in the gut that this is our last term in St. Paul's...

Luckily after our Mock exams were over we didn't need to go to lessons...that's a fate destined for us tomorrow and Friday...

First lunch? Mixed Grill.

Saturday, January 16, 2010

IB MOCK EXAMS

The U6's aren't being greeted with a good New Year spirit....

we have to come back a week early to have our IB Mocks...
